چکیده
Background: Due to increasing domestic and industrial demand, edible oil production is not keeping up with demand. To fill this gap, the productivity of oilseeds can be increased by applying adequate nutrients, particularly sulphur (S), at crucial growth stage. Purpose: The present study aims explore best concentration S for its foliar application on various cultivars mustard. Methods: A factorial randomized pot experiment was conducted investigate role leaf-applied growth, physiobiochemistry, yield quality traits three Brassica juncea L. (mustard). Five levels viz. 0 (water), 15, 30, 45 60 ppm constituted one variant, (Chutki, Nath Sona Rohini) were other variants. sprayed 50 70 days after sowing (DAS). physio-biochemical characteristics studied 90 DAS, attributes 120 DAS (harvest). Results: data indicated that improved all parameters mustard thereafter (at level above S) decreased. Cultivar Sona, followed Rohini Chutki, performed best. Among spray treatment different S, plant dry weight 40.21, 35.65 30.96%, photosynthetic rate 28.27, 27.44 36.29%, pods a 15.23, 12.12 10.80%, seed 7.54, 3.89 4.91%, content 48.70, 46.31 43.15% 24.56, 23.93 22.35% in cultivar respectively, compared their respective water-treated plants. Moreover, examined GC-MS technique components. analysis revealed there 36 compounds non-treated plants 44 treated S. extra resulted from Conclusion: It may concluded two sprays proved effective improving characteristics, mustard, Sona.

Exogenously applied melatonin stimulates root growth and raises endogenous indoleacetic acid in roots of etiolated seedlings of Brassica juncea.
Exogenous melatonin was applied to etiolated seedlings of wild leaf mustard (Brassica juncea) and the effect on root growth and endogenous indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) levels determined. The results show that 0.1microM melatonin has a stimulatory effect on root growth, while 100microM is inhibitory. Furthermore, the stimulatory effect was only detectable in young seedlings (2-d old). Older seedli...
متن کاملEffect of mineral sulphur availability on nitrogen and sulphur uptake and remobilization during the vegetative growth of Brassica napus L.
Because it has a high demand for sulphur (S), oilseed rape is particularly sensitive to S limitation. However, the physiological effects of S limitation remain unclear, especially during the rosette stage. For this reason a study was conducted to determine the effects of mineral S limitation on nitrogen (N) and S uptake and remobilization during vegetative growth of oilseed rape at both the who...

Effects of bio-nitrogen fertilizer (bio-N), as a partial alternative to mineral-nitrogen fertilizer (mineral-N), on growth, yield and yield quality of broccoli plants were investigated. Bio-N was applied at 1, 2 or 3 doses in combination with 65% of the recommended dose of mineral-N (bio-N1, bio-N2 or bio-N3 + 2⁄3mineral-N). However, 100% of the recommended dose of mineralN was applied as a con...
متن کاملOrganic matrix based slow release fertilizer enhances plant growth, nitrate assimilation and seed yield of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.).
Field experiments were conducted to study the effect of organic matrix based slow release fertilizers (SRFs) on plant growth, nitrate assimilation and seed yield of Brassica juncea L. cv, pusa bold. The agro-waste materials like cow dung, clay soil, neem leaves and rice bran were mixed together in 2:2:1:1 ratio and used as organic matrix for the immobilization of chemical fertilizer nutrients w...
